Slow-cooked brisket with bacon and melted cheese in flaky pastry. A Pie Hole heavyweight.

Chunky slow-cooked steak in rich gravy under golden flaky pastry. The benchmark Aussie pie, done properly.

The lot — creamy mash, melted cheese, bacon and tomato piled on top.

Chunks of slow-braised beef in a rich cracked-pepper gravy. The classic, done properly.

Beef mince topped with melted cheese and bacon. A counter favourite.
Made with local
Meat is most of what a pie is, so where it comes from matters. Barry's is five minutes down the road and Clayfields is just up the valley — close enough that we can drop in and see for ourselves. We're lucky to have them.

Family Butcher · Cessnock
Every steak pie we bake starts at Barry's — Cessnock's own family butcher, raising cattle on their own farm. We know exactly where our beef comes from, because we can see the paddock.

Raw Honey · Hunter Valley
Pure, unprocessed Hunter Valley honey — from classic Ironbark to Habanero Hot Chilli. Now on the shelf at our Nulkaba bakery. Grab a jar with your pies.

Word of mouth
Great range of pies that are fairly priced and packed with flavour. I had the Chilli and Cheese pie first and it was delicious. One handed pie that was the perfect temp and just the right amount of flaky goodness. Not served in foil, which is a good sign.

Totally full like all good pies should be. Perfect serving temp. This was a unique flavoured pie and one that I absolutely loved and glad I chose. (Chilli Chicken Mango Pie — scored 45.5/50.)

Great pies - have had steak and cheese, and steak Diane. Both full of flavour. Also couldn't pass up the Palmier. Took me back 20 years and was delicious!

I just moved to the area from Newcastle and stopped in for some lunch between van trips. The young lady working was incredibly welcoming and more than happy to talk me through what was in each of the pies. The pie itself was fantastic, even at the end of the day, but what really stood out was the gravy and mince. The first bite gave me an instant flashback to my grandmother’s homemade pies. I’m so glad I stopped in and I will definitely be back.

I travel alot for work and the old bakery in a small town is always my go too for a quick easy feed. This place will have me going out of my way to come back for more!! I had the tomato and onion pie (no sauce) and a plain pie and my word, absolutely delicious! The staff (lady serving) and a fella on the oven were both friedly, chatty and overall just had a good feel to the place. Love it when i see product still being made in store fresh.

Made for your moment
Birthdays, weddings, kids' parties, corporate do's — we build the cake you want and top it with an edible print of a photo, logo or favourite character. Food-safe edible ink, icing sheet, proper picture-quality finish.
Good to know
Yes — custom cakes are a Pie Hole speciality. We do birthday cakes, kids' cakes, cupcake orders and cakes for weddings, engagements and events. Give us at least 3–5 days' notice for anything custom, and a week for larger tiered or themed cakes. Call the shop closest to you or use the contact form.
We do. Send us a photo — a face, a logo, a pet, a favourite moment — and we'll print it in food-safe edible ink onto an icing sheet and top your cake with it. Great for surprise birthdays, corporate cakes, and kids' characters. We need at least 3 days and a high-resolution image (JPG or PNG). Ring the shop or email us via the contact form to start.
Minimum 3 days for a standard custom cake or edible photo print. 5–7 days for larger, tiered, or heavily decorated cakes. For weddings and events we'd prefer 2+ weeks so we can talk through flavours, sizing and delivery. The earlier the better — especially around long weekends and peak wedding season.
Phone pre-orders are welcome at both shops, especially if you need a tray of pies for an event or want to make sure a specific flavour is held for you. Online pre-order is coming soon.
